The Non Invasive Prenatal Test (NIPT) Screening is a screening test (not a diagnostic test) that is offered to patients to determine the fetal gender and possible chromosomal defects and anomalies. It may be done during both normal and high-risk pregnancies, including those with a history of congenital abnormalities and familial diseases.

SCHEDULE: Once you've booked, our Care Managers will reach out to you up to 48 hours after order confirmation for your consultation schedule. Please wait for a message in the email address you have provided! For urgent concerns, please prioritize a visit to the Emergency Room.

VALIDITY: 6 months

The Non-Invasive Prenatal Test Screening will start with an interview to be performed online with a board-certified OBGYN, to understand the patient’s decision to undergo the screening. During the screening, an OBGYN will ask you various questions to determine if you need a Non-Invasive Prenatal Test (NIPT). The OBGYN will also obtain the family history of the couple, past pregnancies, and genetic conditions or chromosomal abnormalities. The interview will also identify certain maternal medical conditions where NIPT is not advisable.

After your screening, if you’re eligible for the Non-Invasive Prenatal Test, the OBGYN will discuss the different testing options and their coverage to help the patient choose the most appropriate plan. All options require a blood extraction to be done in a Kindred Clinic.

Basic
- Can detect Trisomy 21, 18, 13 + Gender identification
Standard
- Can detect Trisomy 21, 18, 13, + sex chromosome aneuploidies, + Gender identification
Pro
- Can detect a total of 84 anomalies, including Trisomy 21, 18, 13, sex chromosome aneuploidies, deletion and duplication syndromes, and more than 200 abnormalities + Gender identification

Please note: The cost of the Non-Invasive Prenatal Test will be charged separately and is not included in this interview or consultation.

After the Non-Invasive Prenatal Test is completed, results may take up to 21 business days to receive. After results are received, you will be asked to schedule your follow-up OBGYN consult to discuss your results and any questions you may have.

Depending on the results of the test, a consultation with a Perinatologist may be recommended.
The Non-Invasive Prenatal Test Screening is for pregnant patients who want to get screened for any increased risk of chromosomal abnormalities that may affect their child. The Non Invasive Prenatal Test is recommended for expectant mothers who are at least 10 weeks into their pregnancy.

NIPT is also perfect for mothers who want to check if their fetus has any possible risk of chromosomal abnormalities without any invasive procedures. The NIPT simply requires a blood extraction from the patient.

Please note: As the NIPT is a screening test, it cannot give a definitive yes or no answer to any question regarding a fetus' condition. Rather, the results will show an increased or decreased risk of any of the disorders being screened.
