What is PMOS, and why did the name change?
Polyendocrine Metabolic Ovarian Syndrome is the new global name for PCOS, announced in May 2026. The diagnosis did not change. “Polycystic” wrongly made a whole-body hormone condition sound like an ovary problem.
Is PMOS curable?
It is lifelong, and very manageable. Cycles, skin, energy and long-term health can all improve with the right plan.
Will this affect having kids someday?
It is a common reason cycles do not cooperate when trying to conceive, and one of the most workable. Your doctor builds the plan around your answer, and your answer is allowed to change.
What if my results come back normal?
Then you will know, properly, and your doctor keeps looking for what does explain your symptoms.
Do I need to prepare anything?
The sugar test needs fasting, and our team tells you how long when you book. Bring any past labs or ultrasounds.
