- Metabolic blood tests — HbA1c, fasting glucose and a lipid profile, for how your body has been handling sugar and fat over time
- Thyroid and prolactin tests — TSH, FT4 and prolactin. Both can stop periods on their own, so it helps to know they are not the cause
- A vitamin D level, which is often low and straightforward to put right
