Occupational therapy (OT) offers treatment for individuals who have issues with movement and coordination. This type of therapy assists patients in improving their motor skills needed in everyday tasks, such as writing or getting dressed.

These motor skills also include fine and gross motor skills and motor planning. Occupational therapists also work on coordination, balance, and self-regulation skills for the improvement of patients’ everyday activities.

Occupational Therapy Intervention involves the provision of services done in collaboration with the client to promote and facilitate engagement and participation in meaningful life activities. Activities provided during the intervention sessions are based on data gathered from the evaluation session as well as evidence from theoretical frameworks.

Interventions are typically categorized as occupations and activities, interventions to support occupations, education and training, advocacy, group interventions, and virtual interventions.
